💡 The Big Idea
A new edtech startup is targeting older learners.
Leap is tapping into an underserved 55-and-older demographic. Users can learn about topics like poetry and journaling in virtual classes of 5 to 10 participants.
Online educational content has seen exponential growth over the last decade, but it’s still difficult to find meaningful social learning experiences. For seniors, those opportunities are nearly non-existent. From Leap’s website:
There are 1.4 billion people 55+ today, 1.1 billion of them are between 55-75 living healthier longer lives than ever before. People want to continue to learn, connect and grow as they age. There is just no good place to do this.
That’s the gap that founders Caroline Ingeborn and Vishal Kapur are working to fill through their platform, which just announced a $3.1 million seed round.
They’re also hiring!
